Shoalhaven Environment Plan

Council to re-exhibit Shoalhaven Local Environment Plan 2013

Shoalhaven City Council will be re-exhibiting the draft Shoalhaven Local Environment Plan (SLEP) 2013 from Wednesday 3 April.

The SLEP is being re-exhibited to allow the community to comment on the changes made to the draft document as a result of the original 13 week exhibition process back in 2011.

As part of the re-exhibition process Council will be conducting a series of Drop in Sessions throughout the City to enable the community to access information on the plan, ask questions of staff and make comment.

Dates and locations of the Drop in Sessions include -

  • Huskisson Community Centre – 15 April
  • Sussex Inlet Community Centre – 16 April
  • Ulladulla Dunn and Lewis Centre – 17 April
  • Pyree Hall, Pyree – 18 April
  • Nowra Administration Building – 22 April
  • Berry School of Arts– 24 April

All sessions will take place between 4pm - 6pm.

Mayor, Joanna Gash encouraged the local community to take advantage of the re-exhibition process saying it was important that interested local residents have a look at and comment on any proposed changes.

“Whilst it is essential that Council completes this long running plan as soon as possible, once completed, the SLEP will control development and guide planning decisions made by Council making it extremely important that the local community has had plenty of input and an opportunity to review the  document before it is finalised,” said Clr Gash.

“The original 13 week exhibition process saw Council receive over 3,000 individual submissions, with a number of changes made to the original SLEP as a result.

“As such, Council is about to re-exhibit the draft SLEP, providing local residents a further opportunity to comment on the changes made to the draft plan prior to its finalisation later this year.”

The draft SLEP 2013 will be available for viewing on Council’s specialised LEP website at http://slep2009.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/

Further to do this, hard copies of the document will be available at both the Nowra and Ulladulla Administration Buildings with computer access also available at the Nowra and Sanctuary Point Libraries and Bay and Basin Leisure Centre.
